• Payment is expected at time of service. We accept cash or personal checks. There will be a $28 fee on all returned checks.



• Cancellations need to be made 24 hours in advance. We will allow one missed appointment without charging. You will be charged for the full session if you miss the next appointment. Emergency cancellations are determined at the practitioner's discretion.



• Sessions begin and end at scheduled times. Sessions begun late due to the client arriving late, end at the appointed time, and are full price. All appointments delayed for more than 15 minutes (including 30 minute appointments) will need to be rescheduled. Also, you may be charged for the missed session if you have missed more than one appointment in the past six months.



• Sexual harassment is not tolerated. If the practitioner's safety feels compromised, the session is stopped immediately and the client is charged full price.



• Please be clean, having showered the same day as the treatment.



• Please be present (not under the influence of drugs or alcohol) and please refrain from eating a heavy meal two hours prior to your treatment.



• All minors (children under 16) must have written permission or be accompanied by a parent/guardian for their massages. Parent/guardians have the right to remain in the room with their child who is receiving the massage.



• All cancer patients currently undergoing treatment must have written permission by their oncologist to receive massage therapy.



• All clients must provide a healthy history (our form) and are responsible for informing us of any health changes such as medication or surgeries.



• Gift certificates are available and have a 6-month expiration date. After 6 months, the gift reverts back to the purchaser for another 3 months. If the gift certificate goes unused after 1 year to the date of purchase, it is void.



• If the recipient does not wish to use a gift certificate, the certificate can be transferred to another client. No refunds are given for the amount of the gift certificate.



• We offer a free massage for three new referrals. Referrals do not include gift certificates.

What Clients Can Expect from The Calming Sun

• We provide our clients with a competent and professional session each time they come for an appointment, addressing the client's needs for that session.



• Modesty is respected: clients are draped with a sheet at all times during the session. Only the parts of the body being worked on are exposed at any time. The genitals are never massaged.



• We will return phone calls within 24 hours unless we are out of town.



• Clients are treated with respect and dignity.



• We charge fair prices for our services; at this time, we do not handle insurance.



• We perform services for which we are qualified. We do not diagnose or treat specific problems. We will refer you to the appropriate specialist when the work is not within the realm of our practice or not in the client's best interest.



• Privacy and confidentiality are maintained at all times.



• Our equipment and supplies are clean and safe.



• If a client is dissatisfied with a treatment, and no other arrangement can be agreed on, a 50% refund of the treatment is honored.



• If we need to cancel an appointment, we will do so within 24 hours whenever possible.
